6th December

“In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”

“In his days justice shall flourish, and peace till the moon fails. For he shall save the poor when they cry and the needy who are helpless. He will have pity on the weak and save the lives of the poor.” – from Psalm 71

We look forward to the days when God’s justice shall fully flourish for all, and we do what we can now to help make this more of a reality in all the ways that we can. To this end, this advent we are going to be supporting the work of Jesuit Missions through prayer and fundraising.

Thanks to the generosity of its many supporters Jesuit Missions has helped thousand of people in twenty low-income countries in recent years. Working with local Jesuit partners, they have supported life changing projects from Myanmar to Madagascar. Sadly war, climate change and rising prices have hit the poorest people hardest. In recent years the number living in extreme poverty worldwide has risen to nearly 1 in 10.

Pray for the work of Jesuit Missions, their partner organisations and the communities they serve, and respond with generosity to the fundraising opportunities we will be holding in school to help Jesuit Missions continue its life changing work.

“Dear Lord,
Help us to do all the good that we can,
by all the means that we can,
in all the ways that we can,
in all the places we can,
at all the times that we can,
to all the people we can,
as long as ever we can.
Amen.”
